Even Dwyane Wade endures stretches of poor shooting at times. He isn't accustomed to poor games against the Toronto Raptors , though.

Wade struggled with his shot as the Miami Heat suffered consecutive losses for the first time this season, but he appears to have a good opportunity to end his problems in a matchup with the Raptors on Friday night.

Miami (7-4) has lost three of four after a fast start.

Toronto has struggled defensively this season, allowing 107.8 points per game. The Raptors gave up at least 100 points in losing their last three after holding their previous two opponents under 90.

Miami hopes to have forward Udonis Haslem back Friday after he sat out against Atlanta due to an ailing left shoulder. He began feeling pain last week in the weight room and aggravated the injury against the Thunder when he fell on the shoulder.

Miami's depth suffered another blow when Quentin Richardson sustained a lower back strain early in the third quarter against the Hawks. Richardson.

Toronto lost 104-91 to Utah on Wednesday night despite getting Hedo Turkoglu back after a one-game absence. Turkoglu had 11 points and six rebounds after missing the Raptors' 130-112 loss to Denver the previous night with a sore left hip.

Even with Turkoglu back, the Raptors were held under 100 points for the first time in four games and the second time this season.

LETS GO HEAT!!!!

In support of his United We Serve initiative, President Barack Obama and NFL stars Drew Brees, DeMarcus Ware, and Troy Polamalu team up to highlight the importance of fitness for American children.

The NFL's Play 60 initiative stresses that young people can live a healthy lifestyle by engaging in 60 minutes of physical activity a day. The President's United We Serve initiative encourages all Americans to get engaged in their communities and help create a brighter future for our nation's youth through service.

It's about time the AFC South rivalry between the Texans and Titans heated up. Until now, the Titans didn't respect the Texans enough to trash talk them.

Now the Titans don't like the Texans. And the Texans don't like the Titans. Both claim the other takes cheap shots.

This is starting to remind me of the AFC Central.

On Thursday, the Titans launched broadsides from Nashville, and it will be interesting to see if the Texans come out swinging or shrink under the pressure of their first playoff race.

Because the Texans broke a seven-game losing streak in this series to win the last two 13-12 and 34-31, they have the Titans' attention. Now some Tennessee players are turning the screws from afar, trying to torture the Texans mentally before they invade our city.

In other words, they are trying to get inside the Texans' heads before the Monday Night Football game at Reliant Stadium that will be sent nationwide by ESPN.
Word games

First up is outside linebacker Keith Bulluck, a 10-year veteran who is the dean of the Titans' defense. Bulluck insulted the Texans after practice Thursday. He told reporters that when the team comes to Houston, he's looking forward to “destroying all playoff hopes and aspirations they have.”

Ouch! Them's fightin' words!

Next up is tight end Bo Scaife, who played at the University of Texas. He also took a shot at the Texans.

“We owe them, and they know we owe them, and every time we play them, this is the biggest game of their season, or so they say,” Scaife said. “We owe them for two losses.”

Finally, running back Chris Johnson, the NFL's leading rusher and most exciting player, wasn't satisfied with his 197-yard rushing performance in the first game. He had touchdown runs of 91 and 57 yards, not to forget his 69-yard touchdown catch.

“I was kind of upset I didn't get 200 yards,” Johnson said. “I'm going to try and get that. I think I'm unstoppable.”

DeMeco Ryans, Brian Cushing and Bernard Pollard might have something to say about that 200-yard goal against a defense that has allowed 60.5 yards rushing over the last six games.

The Titans have a three-game winning streak after starting 0-6.
Taking shots

Back in September at LP Field, the Texans' three-point victory wasn't secured until Jeff Zgonina outwrestled Kerry Collins and center Kevin Mawae for the quarterback's fumble.

That game wasn't just physical; it was dirty.

Andre Johnson started a brawl with his nemesis, cornerback Cortland Finnegan, and was fined $7,500. Earlier, Johnson was screaming and pointing at Finnegan for what he considered cheap shots.

Jacoby Jones was fined $5,000 for throwing a punch during the fight that included players from both teams.

Eric Winston challenged Kyle Vanden Bosch to a fight on the field because the defensive end kept going for Joel Dreessen's knees to settle an old score.

Titans defensive tackle Jason Jones was ejected and fined for throwing a punch, supposedly at receiver David Anderson, who must have bitten him on the leg.

On Monday night, expect players on both teams to get down and dirty before the national television cameras. It could be so physical Reliant Stadium feels like a house of pain.

ATLANTA – Though Tracy McGrady made it clear again that he has grown weary with waiting for Monday's practice and MRI, the Rockets' designated next step toward his return to the court, he and Rockets coach Rick Adelman said Friday that their conversation about it Wednesday was not emotional and that voices were not raised.

Yahoo Sports reported that McGrady and Adelman “engaged in an emotional and sometimes loud closed-door confrontation” after McGrady put on his uniform as if he was going to play.

“It's not even an issue,” McGrady said. “If coach tells you something different, I'd be surprised. I'm here to play basketball. I'm not here to be a distraction. I've been through enough of that drama last year. I'm not going to let it start this year, at all.”

McGrady said that voices were not raised during their conversation.

“No question about it,” he said. “I'm not that type of person and you know coach is not.”

Adelman did not seem upset on Wednesday. McGrady had gone through his usual pregame workout before he returned to the locker room and later changed into his uniform while Adelman conducted his pregame media interview. Adelman later laughed when told that McGrady was in uniform.

Adelman said on Friday that when they met, the conversation did not get loud, but that McGrady did not want to wait for next week to make his season debut. McGrady could not have played at the time he put on the uniform on Wednesday because that night's inactive list had already been turned in.

“I knew I wasn't going to play,” McGrady said. “I saw my uniform. I was excited. I put it on, like a little kid. It felt refreshing to put it on because it was in sight.”

A person with knowledge of NBA insurance policies said that insurance has been paying McGrady's salary since last season. The Rockets have said that doctors chose Nov. 23 for McGrady's MRI based on the time doctors believed he would need following the surgery and the team's practice schedule.

Yahoo reported that McGrady put on the uniform to force Adelman to meet with him. Adelman, however, said McGrady could have spoken with him at any time and that they did talk last week, with Adelman reiterating then and again Wednesday that he would stick with the plan to have McGrady work out and go for an MRI on Monday before any decisions were made. McGrady, however, has not wanted to wait, Adelman said.

“There was a difference of opinion,” Adelman said. “He wasn't going to play. I told him that. That was it. I have no idea what they're talking about. He wants to play. I said ‘you're not.' We're going to wait to next week and then we're going to discuss it. We haven't practiced (since Nov. 9). We're going to just suit him up and throw him out there? No.

“We haven't had any arguments. He wants to know what we're going to do. I don't have an answer for that. This is an issue for doctors and the people who work with him. In my mind, he hasn't practiced enough. He's not ready to play.”

Asked if he was eager for Monday's practice and test, McGrady said, “You have no idea.”
Marv Albert, the veteran NBA announcer for TNT, was a guest on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" show. The musical star was rapper 50 Cent. As Albert arrived, with an entourage of one, TNT public relations specialist Jeff Pomeroy, there was a sudden scuffle when a multitude of 50 Cent protectors seemed unfamiliar with Albert. There was shouting ("It's Marv Albert," yelled a Kimmel show guard, a pronouncement that seemed to have no effect on the 50 Cent phalanx.) There were obscenities. A fist or two flying. A "Don't you put your hands on me" pronouncement.

its not what yall think either. this was the single most impressive scoring game in the history of the nba for many reasons.

1st being. this was literally the best team in the nba that year. (minus the refs they shouldve had a ring and the world knows it ive never ran into no one in the street who disputes it only on here)

2nd. the height of the team. their point guard j terry at the time was around 6'5 let alone the rest of their roster. this wasnt the raptors either they ''hounded him every imaginable way'' as dirk stated. and as avery said ''we even threw the kitchen sink at him'' they had a roster full of top talent they threw at the greatest but nothing worked.

3. he didnt even play a full three quarters  phil yanked him and the fan screamed for him to come back but he declined. he sat out with minutes left in the 3rd. he couldve easily ended the 3rd with 70-75 and the least he wouldve got like they said on around the horn wouldve been 85 points thats if he tankend in the fourth he easily wouldve gotten 92 to 102 if he tried for it. your talking about the guy as kareem abdul jabbar put it as ''the greatest difficult shot hitter of all time'' and as phil jackson said ''the single player hes ever coached with the ability to make shots and heat up like anything hes ever seen before''

4, this being the modern era and kobe not having any size or athletic advantages over defenders as jordan did. let alone kobe was playing on a bum knee. watching most of jordans greatest scoring feats when i was younger it was over guys like michael adams who was like 5'10 and weighed 160-180 john starks and he was troubled by joe dumars who literally is smaller than chauncey billups who is considered a shrimp in todays league! not to mention people talk about mike dropping 50 at 38 . he was left open the whole game and when he was guarded it was by david wesly or someone :smh: people fail to look at that at all they ignore all the variable and look at the stats. yes people numbers lie thats like me making money as a teacher and you making money as a prostitute and you looking at the finals product like its still money. people ignore variables when they want to shape something in their image.

5. this might be the most compelling. kobe bryant not wilt chamberlain is the only person in nba f**king history to literally outscore a entire f**king team singlehandedly!! no one ever brings this up!! its like they purposely try to hide or downgrade what this man does and its so obvious its sad. they compare other player to him and do everything else to take away from what hes done and sweep mind blowing s**t like this under the rug. its not like he outscored the bucks. not only he did it to a western conference team but the best team in the league man!! its f**king disgusting it like they purposely try every way not to let the public know mike skills and talent have been vastly upstaged and the guy who did it knows it and hes unapologetic so they hate him. its f**king sad :smh:

enjoy

After two days of debating the pros and cons of adding the four-time NBA scoring champion, the Knicks decided late Thursday night not to offer the newly unrestricted free agent a one-year contract.

"We are definitely not pursuing him anymore," the Knicks source said.

Knicks president Donnie Walsh was expected to speak to the media at the team's facility Friday at noon ET.

Iverson cleared waivers Thursday night and is free to sign with any NBA team.

The former MVP was waived Tuesday after playing only three games with the Memphis Grizzlies and no team claimed him in the following 48 hours, making him a free agent.

Iverson was unhappy coming off the bench last season in Detroit and this season with the Grizzlies, so there wasn't expected to be much interest in him.

....his feelings.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! has a half-harrowing, half-hilarious tale out of...

....his feelings.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! has a half-harrowing, half-hilarious tale out of Minneapolis, where sources say Tracy McGrady put on his uniform Wednesday to confront coach Rick Adelman about the team's timetable for the fallen star's return. Woj reports that McGrady -- who may or may not have told Yahoo! last week that he'd planned on returning Wednesday against the Wolves, a plan the Rockets quickly squelched -- is angry the team is holding him off the court, and wanted answers from Adelman.

What resulted (with McGrady in full uniform after warming up with teammates before the game) was a heated closed-door argument, Woj reports. The writer's sources claim Mac demanded to know why team management wouldn't let him get back on the court sooner than next week's scheduled MRI.

As someone who followed an Adelman-coached team closely for eight years, this is certainly rare -- R.A. feuded with very few players in Sacramento, with only Tony Massenburg standing out in memory. (Adelman and Chris Webber had their moments, but I'd argue no other coach in the league would have survived the troubling end to the 2003-04 season, in which Webber ruined the sparkling Kings by returning from surgery too early, and then blamed Peja Stojakovic for the second round exit. Somehow, Adelman came out of it looking like a white hat.)

But perhaps that's part of the problem -- Adelman is reserved, and has no time for drama. McGrady's situation is fairly dramatic. Adelman's silent insouciance (also seen in the fourth quarter of big games, unfortunately) probably makes McGrady feel underappreciated, or brushed aside.

McGrady's the league's highest-paid player, a former MVP candidate watching his career twinkle out due to chronic back problems and last year's microfracture surgery. This has to be a rough transition for McGrady, especially if what McGrady's people tell Woj is true: that the Rockets are stalling to collect insurance money, some $226,000 for every game the star misses from here on out. If McGrady truly believes that theory, he deserves answers, and Adelman probably owes his player his ear.

I'd be inclined to believe that said claim -- which comes from McGrady's people, mind you -- is not true, and that it's more an issue of Adelman and team management (led by Daryl Morey) knowing that the McGrady era is basically over, and that the New Rockets need to learn to win, lose and play without the epic possession/attention soaker. For all the criticism of what his game has become, McGrady has been surprisingly gracious on the court the last few years, but by his extant standards that's not enough for the newly egalitarian Rockets.

It's too bad, because McGrady's clearly gone from Houston by June 30 (when his contract expires), if not sooner. That would mean that McGrady has left three NBA teams, all of them in less than happy circumstances. I suppose the same could be said of most lightning-rod stars (Shaquille O'Neal certainly included), but that really doesn't make it any less unfortunate. Only McGrady and the Rockets know the truth here -- whether McGrady is being a prat, or whether Houston is doing him wrong -- but no matter what, based on history and preconceived notions, it will reflect poorly on McGrady. It's probably something in between, if in-between even exists in matters of pride. If reports like this persist, though, it's plausible we'll never know, because it's plausible McGrady may have worn that Rockets uniform -- in a visitor's locker room office, mind you -- for the last time.
