Anyone watching this? Great season so far. The semi and quarter finals matchups are great.
Corey Hill didn't impress me a few weeks ago when he fought Emerson. I thought Emerson got the match, but they gave it to Corey. Corey's boxing skill is in question imo.
I think it was right for Dana to give the boot to Sims, Noah and I forgot the other guy, two(or three) weeks ago for unsanctioned fighting in the backyard. good call, UFC doesnt need that type of immature sh*t.

Last night had a great fight with Gray Maychard and Brandon Melendez. Good job on both of them for their striking, lots of good shots landed. Gray is a monster though and took down Brandon alot, BUT Brandon (surprisingly) took down Gray a few times as well. Beautiful fight. Gray won though by Guillotine submission. Great choke.

What do you guys think? Who will win it all?
Gray imo has the ability to win it all, but there's a few others like Nate and Manny that will make it tough.

Im mad that DIaz and COrey are fighting cause Diaz is my favorite fighter on the show with Corey being my favorite personailty.

Im going with Diaz wins and I hope manny wins I wanna see those two in the finale.

Pulve>Penn

BJ and Pulvers will be a good bout, both are extremely talented. Close fight; I still can't decide on who I think will win.

I think Penns the better fighter but after this show I like Pulver so much more.

last nights fight was entertaining but horrible...

Melendez better get some takedown defense, or ATLEAST a good enough ground game to NOT give someone his back 5 or 6 times in a fight if he ever wants to suceed.

corey isnt that great in my opinion hes lanky and dosent know how to use his height to his advantage,if he was smart he would keep the distance and used that jab ,instead he fights inside and sets his tiny legs up for devistating kicks , fortunatley it wouldnt be a problem against diaz because hes a submissionist but against a striker he would get worked.

if penn comes into the fight in great shape he should handle pulver easily. penns only weakness is that he gasses in the last round.

i agree this has been a great season. as far as who will win it all....its a toss up. i like nate diaz, but will he be able to get passed coreys long, lanky ass next week? you guys should give corey some respect. hes never fought before in mma. his record was 0-0 going into that fight. i think the kids got a lot of potential and i liked the way he fought. i mean sure he made lots of mistakes but he is a talented kid with a lot of heart and intensity. his jab is ok compared to what it should and could be. he could give any fighter in the leightweight division problems.

im not sold on gray... he was probably exhausted from over training but he had moments where i thought he was gonna get stopped. if melendez's sprawl game was better he woulda won that match. gray will get KO'd if he fights anyone like nate or manny. manny could also be a sleeper.

jens vs penn. should be a great fight. i gotta go with bj on this one but ill be rooting for jens. hes really won me over this season. he seems like someone id love to train under. i like his attitude and the way he treats his fighters. seems like someone id go have a beer with. dude prolly tokes too. a lot of the mma guys do.

Gabe Ruedieger's Removal From EliteXC/K-1 Card

The reasoning behind Gabe's removal from the card on Showtime this weekend appears to be that CSAC commissioner Armando Garcia watched The Ultimate Fighter 5 and made the decision that Ruediger was "mentally unfit to fight". This seems like it is a little harsh a punishment for something the CSAC watched on TV. Ruediger did make an ass of him shelf on natural television though so it could be understandable why Garcia believed he was mentally unstable. In any event Ruediger's hope of more face time from being on Spike TV has blown up in his face.

Yea, this season is great. I love seeing how crazy and funny BJ is. Like when he got all antsy and fidgety when Dana was telling him to step it up his coaching game. He looked like he wanted to punch Dana.

Also the beef between him and Jens looks genuine and not all hyped BS like you saw between Tito and Ken.

eeehhh, i highly doubt Ken and Tito's beef was fake.

I know it was real, but what I mean is they turn that sh*t up for the cameras or when people are around. They both seem like fake ass busters who will talk trash just so their ego isn't shattered.

But BJ genuinely could care less about the cameras, he just wants to smash Jens' face in.

i like nate alot he got a great technical BJJ backround, comes from a family of good mma fighters( his brother nick ... bjj black belt ), also trained alot with dave terel ,he got heart to like nick im sure he will establish himself more as he fights, corey hill like i said before his height and lankiness he should take advantage of it instead of fighting from the inside ,his legs are sticks ,but he did good for his first professional fight ,hopefuilly he opens up more and fights a agressive distance fight that guy has potential to be really great not to many 6 foot 4 155 pounders ,let see how long he can hold until he moves up in weight.

ill800
06-08-2007, 09:43 AM
how about corey hill? the kids gonna be a problem in a year. his take down defense against nate was great. he was winning the fight until he got caught. he made a mistake and got caught in a triangle. things like this will happen. it was only his second mma fight and he was in there against a crafty nate diaz.

as for the finals... if nate fights manny, he should be able to take care of him. but manny is a little pitbull and he is dangerous for any fighter. joe should be able to take care of gray with ease. i think joe might win it all due to his edge in experience. i think nate has the most potential out of the whole bunch.

so i got nate vs joe in the finals with joe stopping nate later in the fight. joe just seems to be the more polished fighter.

icedout921

Corey showed something in the fight, it was a quick fight but he was winning it before Nate brought out the triangle.

Nate is probably gonna win it all so he at fought a excellent fighter who matched up well against him and held his own.
