I don't understand how a team that is a perennial Eastern Conference finalist didn't have a thread already, but I'm glad that I could be the one to start it. You DO realize that over the past 20 years, the NBA Champion has come out of the East the same number of times it's come out of the West? Or that eventhough, over the past couple years, everyone has been saying how superior the West is over the East, but the champion came out of the East 2 of the past 3 years? And that it was one play away from having the champ for all 3 years? Eventhough the West team was heavily favored both times? Or that the East has won the all-star game just as many times as the West has over the past 6 years? You talkin about THAT joke conference? :smh:

Just cuz the West has more good teams, doesn't make it's good teams any better than the East's good teams. The Pistons have beaten every good team in the West. Period.

we are not talking about the last 20 years, just since 2000 or so the conference has been mad weak.

having the 1st two rounds basically off helps quite a lot dont u think? playing 1 good team before reaching the finals, is less wear and tear both mentally and physically then going thru 3 wars out west before reaching the finals. of course the pistons are going to be fresher having had such an easier road to the finals, which regardless of what u say does matter in a 7 game series, esp. with the middle 3 games in detroit.
