Coming From Where I'm From was a classic and one of my favorite R&B albums of all time.

Soulife and his new album weren't bad either just not as good as his debut

John Legend is dope aswell, but Anthony Hamilton is more versatile.

Anthony Hamilton no doubt

He seems to have the most soul.

I agree. His whole sound and vibe. I think John legend has the better voice but when it comes to lyrics, AH got it. That's why I think he's better

Both are throwback artists.
John Legend is a premier musician. He can put on a show. I seen him live and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen.

Soulife was actually supposed to come out in like 98 or 99 but got put on the shelves and didnt get realesed after his dubut cd so technically Coming From..... is his second album..

When you think about R&B you gotta think of both anthony hamilton and john legend!!! I am a huge John Legend fan.....he's doing it for me. And then Anthony Hamilton was killing me with that song "Charlene" and from the new album "Cant let go". I would put him up there....but my vote has to stick with John Legend....the "Get Lifted" album was soo tight....i played it repeatedly for like 2 months! I cant wait to hear something new from him....does anyone know when he's coming out with anything?

holla at me!

Anthony Hamilton, but it depends on what John Legend comes up with on his new album. Get Lifted was great but it wasn't on the same level as Coming From Where I'm From

John Legend makes better songs and sings better. Anthony makes those real songs that you can feel tho. This is a hard one. Gotta giv the edge to Legend

Actually....Soulife was his second. Anthony Hamilton had an album called XTC that also got shelved. I hope they release that material too.

I give it to Anthony. I mean on a CD basis, he has 3 (4 if you count the unreleased XTC album) to John's 1. However, music wise, that is all Anthony is about, music. John has hit bopper songs featuring rappers like Snoop to diversivy his sound. Anthony purely sticks to the soul of his music and kept it that way; soulful. I mean music (R-n-B) has kinda deferred from that method of sound. Don't get me wrong, John gets his too, but Anthony is so abstract, yet sincere with his delivery...

i'm gonna say John Legend, although..anthony hamiltons song "pass me over" off his latest album gives me chills...that song is my number 1 of all time i think...
