It Wasn't Me Brother
It wasn't you that took my brother away
No, no
It wasn't a war, nor would it be, even a fight
It wasn't a bomb on the side of the road,
It wasn't a general protecting his home, land
It wasn't a liar in the office of shame, the white house
It wasn't a holy man without a name, no blame
It wasn't a mistake made by his friend,
It wasn't that he was at the end, of his tour
It wasn't the lack of love or prayer, father you did enough
It isn't that the people don't care, anymore
It isn’t about the spread of democracy in the land
It isn’t about the black power in hand, the oil
It can’t be that it was his time, 28 years old
It's not me brother I won't say goodbye,
It wasn't because of the towers, not that day
It wasn't the fault of the mother passing blame, Cindy Sheehan
It wasn't because the others weren't trained,
It wasn't that we stayed to long, 4 years
It has nothing to do about right and wrong,
It isn't the fact that he wants to outdo his father, George W.
It was choice made my brother...
It was about pride he had for his country,
It was about the love he had for the stripes and stars,
It was about the men and woman that came before him,
It was because they asked him to, to serve
It was because that’s what soldiers do....
They fight for things others can't understand so that those who question the fight never have to...So that they are still around and able to question things...So that freedom has a meaning...So liberty has a definition...They do it all without question.......for us.
