jj - i like your chops, sounded like some rjd2 sh*t, which i personally like. didnt have much of a bassline, or any change ups.
vag - your drums were on point on this one, ill have to give it to you. your chops were nice, but the drums and bass held the track together for you. you could have had a change up or two in there, but when all was said and done:

yeah anyone can do it, sometimes you wont be able to vote, depending on the requirements set forth by the battlers. but if you make beats - go to the find an opponient section and find someone to spar with.

thanks for voting. i'll admit his beat was better but like you said it was that bassline. im tryna learn how to get that ninth wonder kinda bassline but it didnt work out. maybe vagnum will help me with that.

vagnum - your beat was cold as hell the sequencing was on point and creative. i like the pauses u threw in there it brought the beat too life. the bassline was tight especially since it actually went with the kick. i hate that snare sound(not that it's a bad sound, just not the sh*t that i'm on)

jjbing4 - your beat was tight too but compared to vagnum it sounded unfinished. baseline is essential even if it's just copy tha sample and filter it down. or a couple low end notes in a chord. u aint gotta have an actual track or instrument called bass it's all i how the overall bottom sounds and moves. i like the way u chopped and sequenced the sample but it got boring after a while. if u fuk wit it a little more on the composition tip that bi*ch could be a beast.

Hands down man. I liked your beat. Very nice chops and ideas. Chorus was also fine. Keep it up. To your question:

The way i did this bassline is like beatboy said you have to fallow the kick. This is very important, always remeber that. Bassline fallows the kick. Thats music theory... Than when you found the right tone pitch you just ad the bass under the kick, right before or sometimes a bit after, it depends how you like it, or it fits. What i did here is very simple but effectfull. The bassline is hitting because of the scale at the end of the loop in combination with the kicks. Listen carefully and you will find out.
