aswell as SSC and MC solar i heard a track with Canibus and sum french dudes called united sumthing LOL was kinda big still! French HH will always be bigger than UK HH because of the radio laws they have over there.

French hip hop is bigger than UKHH because noone in this country really took any notice of it. We were too busy creating our own styles of music like Drum n Bass n Jungle & Garage n Grime

Yeah the UK always been innovative when it comes to changing music. It's such a shame that talent has been getting overlooked for a good 20+ years.

I've got quite a bit of French Hip Hop... i can speak a little, but don't really understand much when they rap. I got the usual stuff, NTM, SSC, MC Solar, TTC, etc....

in france at least 40% of the music they play hasto be home grown, thats gotta have had a huge impact on the success of French Hip-Hop

I remember when i first heard that and thought that it would be a good idea in the UK... That was ages ago tho.

I think it also makes sense, since i'm sure majority of people who only speak French would probably prefer to listen to French artists. We will never really hear them outside of French Speaking nations tho...

Nah i don't even mean 50 Cent level.. i'm talking about on the radio stations.. primarily Tim Westwood. I remember a time when he used to play a mixture of hip Hop from teh Uk and all over, but that's stopped and been replaced by "what's hot" to keep the 1 Million + audience he's getting.

We got CHannel U which plays a selection of tunes from unsigned, Grime, Hip Hop, RnB artists which is cool, but they really need to sort out the commercial videos they repeat over & over & over again.. There are outlets, but they are not accessible to everyone. And MC Solar is one rapper on a Missy European remix song that's like 7-8 years old? I haven't seen one since... Maybe Saian Super Crew Video for "X Raisons"...

i feel u on that back in the days when westwood wud have taskforce on his show n dat, but now the closet thing to uk hiphop on westwood is peeps like dizzee. thats why i dont listen to him no more, he constantly reminds us that "this is what the streets want" but really im not sure he has a clue.

How in god's name did this descend into antoher Westwood bashing event lol.

Who cares what Westwood plays. If you wanna hear UKHH, the BBC gave us a whole fu*king radio station for it - listen to that n not Westwood.
