OK, ok. Don't take this sh*t too seriously. I was just fu*king around and came up with this. You can crit if you want (in fact, I encourage you to), but know that I wrote this kinda as a joke....1

Paris Hilton's Poetry

If Paris Hilton wrote poetry
It would not be hot.

Haikus about Gucci shoes,
Rhymed verse about a trendy purse,
Odes to toy doggies, and other gibberish
Would flood literary journals
And be featured on artsy websites.

No introspective thoughts
From a whore to pop culture
Coming to terms with the fact that
She’s another average girl
With a flat ass, extra makeup, and a trust fund
Who lets her hair down
To hide the reality
That her looks are just acceptable
And not breathtaking.

Nope, we’d be left to decipher sweeping soliloquies
Saturated with adult ADD
About a ditzy mirage who bounces
between personal Camelots.

But then again, I might just be jealous
That she would garner critical acclaim
And receive a lucrative book deal
Before me.

Thanks mason, babygrl, and print...lol blueprint, I ain't forgetting any of ya'll, you are really the only people I share my writing with until it gets published...so everyone here is fam, straight up...

And I got big plans in 2005, gonna learn how to apply for grants and get some of that free 'gubment' money to start up a Literary Journal by the end of the year, urban poets only, boxden style, u know what up. I'd love to help put everyone here on, we got major talent in this forum that NEEDS to be heard. I just gotta get off my black ass and get it done...which really is the biggest hurdle...lol

im feeling this funny but real the line that really caught my eye is

"No introspective thoughts
From a whore to pop culture
Coming to terms with the fact that
She’s another average girl
With a flat ass, extra makeup, and a trust fund
Who lets her hair down
To hide the reality
That her looks are just acceptable
And not breathtaking."

man this is a good laugh and it also has some good word play....Sounds like somthing i would have wrote but not shared...way to hang the balls out.....this is a good piece when taken for what it is and how it makes fun of real life....nice end too, so true the sh*t would be a best sellar even if it was a coloring book...

I upped this one actually because I was in Barnes and Noble and saw that Nicole Richie had a novel out...thought in my mind that I wasn't far off in writing this poem - as I am still patiently waiting for my publisher to print my book, a simple life blonde has a book out there...smh

Wow, I really liked this one, a+. I think that it is crazy how you can take something so stupid and insignificant and make it into something meaningful and thought-provoking. This is one of the best I've read from you (thus far). Propz.
