this is an older piece of mine...i wrote it for my best friend last year when her father passed away...

he walks with god
tiny kisses of salvation
perched on his every footstep
calls of golden-winged angels
perched on his every word

he walks with god
sunlight warming his soul and spirit
lightening the bad of years past
lightening the burden of worry
he is presented with all the beauty
of god's love

he walks with god
learning the world's mysteries
absorbing lessons learned
and releasing all sorrow
with every newfound breath

god walks with your father
supporting and loving
wrapped in the warmth
of his strong and everlasting embrace

rejoice in the sunlight
rejoice in the dreams and ideas
of everlasting love
rejoice in the fact that
all the past trials and tribulations
are erased and
there is no more left of that

there is only love and life
as he walks with god and
as god walks with him

I like it...it makes me think of my pops...R.I.P.

Not to take away from this piece, I can tell you are a much stronger writer now that you were then, but I guess that evolution is expected...

I like that you used poetry as a device to heal ayo...props...

it's the comeback kidddddddd...i agree with plus.....this piece reminds of my my pops a lot...so it's real strong for me...and i like it....i've written probably over a dozen poems about my pops, but sometimes i get so overwhelmed that i can't really put it on paper like i want to...so it's good to see something that kind of fits what i so often try to convey.
